That's what my husband said when I told him I was thinking of doing something really different to create awareness and generate funding for KIT - he knows I'm really passionate about my work, but he thought this was going just a little too far over the edge. You see I'd been researching different ways to garner support for KIT during these challenging times and I came across an event called Over The Edge. What a concept - find the tallest building in San Diego and allow people to legally rappel from the top to the street. Wahooo - with all the thrill seekers in San Diego, this could be really fun!
I decided to test the idea of going Over The Edge for KIT to the staff; I'll let you know how it goes ...wish me luck!

- All of my life I’ve been drawn toward work that involves children; from being a PE teacher right out of college to working in the non-profit sector for over 18 years, my passion is making sure all kids are given the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. I thrive on the challenge of rebuilding the infrastructure of a non-profit so that it can function as a viable business capable of accomplishing its mission; a mission most often involving children. From a 3 person staff with 13 local sites to a 7 person staff with 293 local sites, 10 National Affiliates and a contract with the US Navy that takes KIT worldwide; it has been such an honor to be part of this great team. Now it’s time to take KIT to another level of performance. From atop the Manchester Grant Hyatt, I’ll face my fears and rappel for the first time in my life to raise awareness for the full inclusion of children with disabilities in community programs. I’m going Over The Edge for KIT, please join me.
